Correction in pharma sector could be a long-term buying opportunity: Elara

The Nifty Pharma Index has taken a hit, dropping nearly 2% in Friday’s trade. Over the last five days, the index has declined by approximately 4.3%, and on a year-to-date basis, it has fallen by nearly 11%. A key concern impacting market sentiment is the possibility of the US imposing tariffs on Indian pharmaceutical exports. If implemented, these tariffs would increase the cost of Indian pharma products in the US, potentially leading to pricing pressures and reduced competitiveness. However, as of now, there has been no official announcement regarding such tariffs from the US administration.
