India’s data center industry is expected to see strong investment as AI adoption increases demand for GPU-based infrastructure. Deloitte’s Vivek Gupta said financing is unlikely to be a constraint, while Anjani Kumar expects AI workloads to account for a larger share of future capacity. The sector’s expansion will also depend on renewable power, cooling technologies, skilled talent and supportive state policies, with GPU infrastructure requiring significantly higher investment than traditional data centers.
