ANZ projects USD/INR at 91.50 by FY27 — but warns level could come much sooner

ANZ’s Dhiraj Nim cautioned that India’s tariff framework and persistent fiscal pressures are shaping a structurally weaker outlook for the rupee, even if early-2026 seasonality delivers a short-lived recovery. He added that foreign investor sentiment is unlikely to improve meaningfully as the upcoming budget is expected to offer limited room for tax relief.
