Nifty tops 25,500, hitting nine-month high as Reliance, HDFC Bank lead rally

The Nifty rose 304 points, or 1.21%, to settle at 25,549.15, while the Sensex gained 1,000.5 points, or 1.21%, to close at 83,756.24. The rally was led by large-cap financial and energy stocks, with HDFC Bank and Reliance Industries emerging as the biggest contributors to the gains. The Nifty Bank index closed at a record high of 57,207.22, up 586 points, or 1.03%, lifted by strong performances in HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank.
