The NSE Nifty 50 fell 174 points, or 0.70%, to close at 24,543, slipping below the 24,600 mark, while the S&P BSE Sensex declined 636 points, or 0.78%, to finish at 80,738. The broader market also remained under pressure, with the Nifty Midcap 100 falling 0.45% to 57,517.
