ONGC, through its JV companies with Japan’s MOL, has signed shipbuilding contracts with Samsung Heavy Industries for two Indian-flag Very Large Ethane Carriers (VLECs). The vessels, each with 100,000 cubic meters capacity, will transport about 600 KTPA of ethane for ONGC’s subsidiary OPaL.
