India’s power demand surge driven by appliances, not AI or EVs: Goldman Sachs

Nikhil Bhandari, Co-Head of APAC Natural Resources & Clean Energy Research at Goldman Sachs, believes that the most reliable investment returns in India’s power sector will come from companies solving actual supply challenges. These include firms involved in battery cell manufacturing, building thermal power capacity, and upgrading the country’s ageing distribution infrastructure.
